Paul Polman will receive the 2018 Treaties of Nijmegen Medal.

Polman will receive this biennial award, because he has ambitiously and boldly dedicated himself to a more sustainable and, in turn, more peaceful world, both on a national and international scale.

The Treaties of Nijmegen Medal is a biennial prize for people who have worked for peace on the European continent and the position of Europe in the world. The prize is named after the Peace of Nijmegen, where many agreements were made that were decisive for the future of Europe. Partners of the Treaties of Nijmegen Medal are BCS Member NXP Semiconductors N.V, the Nijmegen municipality, the Radboud University Nijmegen and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ceremony will be held on Thursday 5 April at 3.45 pm in the St. Stevenskerk in Nijmegen.
